Workshop: Tooled Leather Miniature Nature Portfolio

International Guild of Miniature Artisans Guild Study Program at Old Salem in North Carolina. Students will cut, bind and cover with leather two miniature volumes (1:12 scale) of Mark Catesby's "Flora and Fauna of Carolina, based on the full size volumes in the museum's collection. Show: Elk Creeks Apple Butter Festival

For 300 years the Bee Hive has been a place for the community to gather. Come celebrate its history with neighbors and friends. There will be artisans and craftsmen selling and demonstrating their work, traditional and folk music, Scottish foods, homemade apple butter and more! 10 am to 4 pm. FREE ADMISSION! Workshop: Tooled Leather Bag

Spend a long weekend in the Laurel Highlands of PA at Touchstone Center for Crafts! Make this bag your own, with many colors and designs to choose from! Transfer the basic pattern onto natural undyed leather, cut out the pieces, tool custom designs, and punch stitching and hardware holes. Explore dye colors, finishes, and antiquing methods. Finish the bag with a saddle stitch, add hardware, and go home with a functional work of art. Sign up by Monday, 9/11!
